Adding a New Record to a View Filtered on a Lookup Column is Filtered Out Before Data Can Be Entered

Filters are one of my most-frequently used features. I always save my most frequent filter settings as views, which is a really nice feature. I have a few minor annoyances about working with filters and filtered views that I wanted to share. When adding a new row in a filtered view, if the new (empty) row doesn’t match the filter criteria, it is immediately filtered out, so it can’t be edited without switching views. The difference here appears to be that the view is filtered on a lookup column (specifically a lookup formula column from a User lookup).

I can click the plus sign, but I’m unable to enter any data for the record because the record is immediately filtered out of the view.

Some possible solutions:

1. It would be ideal if the add record focused on the record, preventing it from being filtered out until data was entered.
2. Another solution could be to pop up a form view for entering records in this scenario.
