Data type of column of type formula

Hi,

i have a formula:
if(–condition–,true(),false())
and i would like the generated data to be formatted as a column of type checkbox.
but i get only strings, “true” or “false”.

when going to “edit format settings” it says:
“Current detected type is string”
And clicking on “Re-detect” does not help.

any hint on how to accomplish that?
