Review of long formatted text from the "log" panel: Scrollbar missing

Your Setup:

  • Self-hosted!
  • SeaTable Version 5.2.7 (and all previous)

Describe the Problem/Error/Question:

Just a small issue, to replicate:

  • Create a base with a formatted text column
  • Fill a field in that column with a fairly long text
  • Change that text
  • In the “log” panel, click on the change to review it - an new panel opens with the review version

The bug: The review panel is missing a scroll bar. Thus, if you want to review the logged changes of a formatted text that is longer than the screen height, you cannot scroll to the lower region of the text.

Error Messages:

none

Hello, I followed the steps you described, but the problem did not reoccur. Can you provide screenshots or videos of the following operations?

Hi, sure!

clicking on the log entry for the change of the formatted text shows this

no chance to reach the part of the text that was actually editied.

However, I just had a suspicion: Is it possible that the change log only saves part of the formatted text? In this case, a scroll bar wouldn’t make sense, because there would be no more text to scroll to.

In the case where people started to notice, the text was extremely long, consisting of very short lines (lists, basically). That’s why users thought they could scroll if they hat a scrollbar.

Is it true that in fact, the text is just truncated?

Thank you for your detailed description. I have reproduced this issue and we will fix the display issue in the next version.
