Webform entry disappears - "add links" issue

Hi,

I have two very similar forms to collect information where scientists choose an event and answer a few questions in order to prepare their intervention in highschools: one webform is prefilled for people who have a reservation, the other one is blank. The events are provided from a table. The answers are collected in a table.

Something very strange happens for the webform which is blank when it is filled out: the entry in the table is created, with all of the information, but the events chosen appear in the table for a only a few seconds and then disappear. What’s left is the entry, the other information, but not the events.

Has anyone ever had this problem? or an idea of how to solve it?
We’re still looking into it and I will post the solution if we find any, in case
Thanks!

all right so we figured out what is happening and it seems to be a bigger issue with the feature “add links” (“ajouter un lien” in French).

Basically in our case we have an automation with “add links” which grabs what is in a table (an event where the scientists are prebooked on a event) to add to the events table collecting our webform entries (for other events the scientists would like to participate to), ending up with the list of events where the scientist would go. This allows us to monitor correctly who is going where and to ensure that there is no overbooking ending up in the scientists not being able to go where a colleague had prebooked them.

What is happening now is that the automation with the “add links” grabs what is in the table with prebooked entries and replaces the content of the events table with it. So, when there are people with no entries in the prebooked table, what they filled in through the webform disappears from the events table (erased by the automation which replaces their entry with the blank cell in the prebooked table), instead of having the prebooked event (blank or not) being added to it.

Until mid-september, the feature “add a link” was really adding without erasing, and now what happens is that the feature “add a link” actually replaces what was previously in the cell. Meaning we were able to have in the cell both what people filled in the webform AND the link made with the event on which they were prebooked, but now it is not possible anymore.

Is there anything that was changed to the feature “add a link” between mid september (where the “add a link” was really adding and not erasing) and now?
Is it a bug that will be fixed or the should the “add a link” feature be renamed “replace with a link”?

We are in the process of identifying all of the other instances where we used the “add a link” feature in our system to add things and not replace them and it is a mess…
Thanks a lot!

Assuming that you use SeaTable Cloud, the answer is no.
